Dawoon Jeong is an artist and educator originally from South Korea and currently living in Centreville, Virginia. Jeong is studying art education at George Mason University and is in the Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT I) program to achieve Prek-12 art licensure. She graduated from the State University of New York(SUNY) at New Paltz in 2022 and received an MFA(Master of Fine Arts) degree in Studio Arts: Metal. She received her bachelor’s degree in Craft & Material Studies from Virginia Commonwealth University(VCU) in 2019.

Through art studio work, Jeong researched nature and the marine ecosystem by the medium of ornaments. Her body of work explored the issues of change affecting living organisms in their environment and how human activities have hindered the sustainability for marine creatures. Jeong has exhibited her studio work at the Invitational and Juried exhibitions in 2023, Alchemy6 the 14th Biennial International Juried Student Enamel Exhibition at Ohio Craft Museum in Columbus, Ohio. In 2022, She participated in MFA Thesis Exhibition: Mining the Ocean at Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art in SUNY New Paltz, New York. In 2021, Jeong was accepted into the juried online exhibition, Metal + ?= at Splop Design gallery and participated in Anonymous Brooklyn, New York City Jewelry Week (NYCJW) at Brooklyn Metal Works in New York.

Dawoon Jeong was employed as a teacher at Elim Kids Academy from 2024 to 2025. She worked as an assistant teacher in Preschool and Pre-K classes, 2024 and she served as a lead teacher in Toddler B class, 2025. Working as a teacher there, she got a lot of positive inspiration from the children and decided to study art education. She stated that “I hope to guide students in the direction that will help them gain confidence in their ideas and complete their artistic endeavors.”
